Who we are & why we started
eto & eto offers pre-loved to re-loved childrenswear, toys and accessories.
Inspired by this little lady, eto & eto was started for parents who want to be as sustainable as possible when buying clothes, shoes, toys and much more from maternity right through childhood.
Based in Cardiff, we want to help make second-hand the first choice for our local community.
The world has too much stuff - there are already enough clothes in existence for the next 6 generations. Babies and children grow so quickly that most items are worn or used a handful of times before they no longer fit, up to 7 different sizes in the first two years.
Anyone with children will know just how quickly the 'stuff' and the cost can mount up, so shopping, and selling, pre-loved makes social, sustainable and financial sense.
What we do
eto & eto aims to take away some of the frustrations we found when shopping pre-loved.
Postage costs
Buying online often means postage costs. For some items this can be over 3 times the cost of the actual item.
Mixed bags
Buying bundles can be a literal mixed bag, sometimes you’ll end up with a couple of items not to your style or taste in order to get the ones you do want.
Quality concerns
And online marketplaces can mean taking a risk in terms of condition and quality.
The eto & eto ethos is that pre-loved isn't less loved.
The experience should be just the same as shopping new - able to browse the products; to put an outfit together or search for that special must-have item. You might even find that next baby shower gift, something that's beautiful, practical and leaves less of an impact on the world that little person will inhabit for their lifetime.
And who knows maybe one day to even be able to touch, feel and experience shopping for pre-loved items in a real "bricks and mortar" store right at the heart of the community (that's the dream!)
Consignment
Previously things might have been handed down between friends & family members but age gaps, physical distance and even global pandemics have condemned items with another full life ahead to cupboards, attics and storage.
eto & eto also offers consignment: selling on behalf of other parents looking to make space in a sustainable way and to receive a financial boost too.
We grade, price and even repair if needed, so that consignors don't need to worry about pictures, postage or anything else to be able to give their items a second chance. If you're interested in consignment, get in touch to find out more.
